A stroke of genius in planning this anniversary

Dates and location: 15 May 2019, Castello Sforzesco, Milan
Target: general public
An unusual take on Leonardo’s genius.
An ambitious and significant task: opening the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, with a spectacular event in a non-conventional context.
Leonardo is best known as a man of science and culture and as an artist. Not many people know that he was also a master of ceremonies. And this is the angle from which we chose to tell his story, retracing the celebration created by the Tuscan maestro for the wedding of Ludovico il Moro’s nephew with Isabel of Aragon.
The Cortile delle Armi of the Castello Sforzesco in Milan was the setting for a great show that combined culture and technology in a unique ambience: projection mapping on the Filarete tower telling the story of the meeting between Leonardo and Ludovico il Moro, a dance performance with 5-meter tall human horses that narrates Leonardo’s and the Prince’s shared love of horses, as well as the bride and groom’s aerial ballet.
For this specific event, we deployed our best creatives, scenographers, AV specialists, production managers and artists, whom we carefully coordinated, with the awareness that we were creating culture in a whole new way, engaging people, making them dream.
